| This paper looks at the poets William Blake and John Donne and how they used the theme of the human condition, love, sorrow and sexuality as central foundations of their work. However, through metaphor and conviction these poets expressed their views on these topics very differently at times. Using A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning by John Donne and Earth's Answer from William Blake's Songs of Experience, the author shows the appearance of love, metaphors, themes and imagery.
